Statement of Purpose

The Federation of National Specialty Societies of Canada (FNSSC) provides a collective voice for specialty care associations and their relationships with national organizations such as the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) and the Canadian Medical Association (CMA). It fosters the advancement and welfare of specialty societies and their practices in Canada. The FNSSC meet the needs of its members by providing information on current trends and offering opportunities to influence impending changes to their professional environment. The federation centers on open free-flowing communication amongst members providing them an opportunity to learn from each other and have their opinions heard.

The objectives of the FNSSC are:

  1. To provide a platform for open dialogue and to facilitate communication amongst members.
  2. To identify resources, tools and best practices that will benefit its members.
  3. To identify current trends, opportunities, and impending changes that will affect its members.
  4. To promote association-centered thinking and collaborate with national bodies such as the RCPSC, CMA and CPSI.
  5. To represent the collective voice of its members and;
  6. To develop action plans and outcomes reflective of the common goals and objectives
